Karen in CO
Is there such a thing as a really good book that explores the thing called British Lit? I would want it tell what were the major themes and influences that made British Lit special. We are studying pieces of literature written by British authors and exploring how they influenced each other and were influenced by their times, but I want a book to kind of use as a spine. Yes, I know that more than half way through the class is a little late to be looking for a "spine" book. :o So does one exist? Thanks. Jan P.
Karen, Here is what Scholar's Online uses: England in Literature, part of the "America Reads" series from Scott, Foresman. I haven't used it, but I'm sure it must be great for SO to use it. They use quality material. Blessings,
dangermom
I like Land and Literature of England: A Historical Account by Robert M. Adams, but it might be too in-depth for your purposes.
