Sparrows-Song
would it be overkill to supplement with "Windows to the World?" Thanks!
Michelle in AL
I used the 8th grade LL course a while back and use Windows to the World all the time, applying it to whatever we're reading. I don't know how much lit analysis LL covers. If it's not enough you could very easily apply the lessons from WtW to the novel you're reading in LL. For example, if the novel has a strong conflicts, you could cover the lessons on conflict, applying it to the conflict in the book rather than the short story WtW uses. Sometimes I use their short story lessons while we're reading a longer work. The kids like a change in pace and it's good to compare different authors and how they use a literary element. The above would require you reading the books, to know which selections of WtW to combine with which novels etc. Alternatively, you could do a semester of WtW, completing it, then do a semester of LL.
