Chalk Dust Precalculus or Foerster's Precalculus?

Recommended Posts

Trying to decide on the best option for ds. who will be completing Foerster's Algebra II and Trig. Or is there another text that you prefer? I also looked at Derek Owen's online classes which uses Micheal Sullivan's 1996 Precalculus text. Any opinions on any of the textbooks listed above? Ds. has used Foerster's I and II for Algebra I and II and has done well with it. I do not wish to teach Precalculus and would do it with a tutor online or someone locally. Please advise.

My teen took College Algebra and then Trigonometry at the local community college after finishing Lial's Beginning Algebra and Intermediate Algebra (for Algebra I and II) and Jacobs' Geometry. The text she used there for both courses was Sullivan's PreCalculus. It was the third edition. I don't recall if that was the 1996 edition or not. She did well in both classes and had no complaints about the textbook.

Kareni
