FaithManor Posted April 20, 2010 Share Posted April 20, 2010 This was what DD's four's looked like: 9th - Algebra 2, Abeka Grammar and Composition III, Henle Latin, Traditional Logic, Apologia Biology, Astronomy (several resources that I cobbled together), World History (Spielvogel text), Ancient Literature (cobbled together by me, including the Epic Gilgamesh, Illiad, Odyssey, selections from Theodysius and Josephus, Old Testament, Plutarch's Lives of the Romans, Plato's Republic), Bible Study/devotions - not for credit, Homeschool soccer league for P.E., and piano lessons. AOP Art Appreciation just to say we did something like this. I am not capable in Art. 10th grade - Harold Jacob's Geometry, Abeka Grammar and Composition lV, The Art of the Elegant Essay, Latin, Apologia Chemistry, World History - Middle Ages including literature readings (Eusebius, Bede, Augustine, Dante, Milton, Tolkein's Sir Gwain and the Green Knight, Song of Roland, Beowulf, Shakespeare -Hamlet, MacBeth, Romeo and Juliet plus several sonnets, New Testament), Logic, Bible Study/devotions, piano lessons 11th grade - Trigonometry/Pre-Calc, English Literature (used my old college textbook for this), Advanced Chemistry, American History (used Dh's old college book and then supplemented with other reading for more recent events), Veterinary science and animal husbandry (not for credit but organized by a local veterinarian and sheep/horse/llama owner), Spanish 1, Bible Study/Devotions, piano lessons 12th grade - Statistics and Analysis, American Literature, American Government and Constitutional Studies, Economics (used old college test so we gave her a full credit), Physics, Classical Rhetoric with Aristotle, Spanish 2, veterinary science and animal husbandry (same as above), Bible study/devotions, and piano lessons. laughing lioness Posted April 20, 2010 Share Posted April 20, 2010 My 9th grader is taking Literature and History: Ancients (using MP study guides- Trojan Wars, Odyssey and Iliad) Latin (on-line) Biology-Apologia w/lab Algebra (Life of Fred) Writing (IEW- Ancients theme book) Apologetics (reading and papers assigned, co-op, my dh teaches) Drama (One Act Play, weekly classes, hmwrk, one week camp this spring with another performance, poetry memorization) Art (weekly assingments) He works out daily with his Dad, does a weekly men's Bible study on Job and has his own daily devotions. This summer he'll finish up the Constitutional Law book by Ferris, probably start the 2nd Latin segment and take up RS Hebrew. We are also going to do IEW's Windows to the World. Spring/summer will also include learning to drywall, stain, sand and honing painting skills, gardening with Moi (he is my mover, lifter and hauler). He'll continue TeenPact involvement either by going to National or Survival this summer.
