Laura in STL
Does anyone know why MFW doesn't use SOTW 1? I have a friend who is using it next year, and she just realized that it doesn't start SOTW until book 2.
LAmom
There is an answer on the forum: http://board.mfwbooks.com/viewtopic.php?t=365 I had wondered that, too, and was directed to that post. HTH!
Sue G in PA
Here is a link to that very question on the MFW message board and the answer from Marie Hazell herself: http://board.mfwbooks.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=

Oops, duplicate account :/
I've read several not so great reviews about Story of the World 1. The posters liked the rest of the series though. I've never read any of them. Maybe MFW felt the same way and just used more interesting material instead. ;)
Laura in STL
Thanks so much for the links. I will pass them on to my friend. I have no experience with Streams of Civilization, so I didn't know how to compare the two books for her.
Tidbits of Learning
On the MFW yahoo groups there is a schedule correlating the chapters of SOTW1 to MFW if you really want to go through all of the SOTW's and use MFW.
