IKEA flooring?

Recommended Posts

We did it and don't recommend it. Granted, we used it in our kitchen (which it isn't recommended for) but it warped from moisture in less than a year. If you're one of those families that doesn't tend to spill or have accidents very often, you might be fine. We stayed with an older couple that had it throughout their house (including the kitchen) and it looked great.

Have you looked into the bamboo flooring from Costco? We've used that twice and love it. It wears well and isn't indestructible with pooling water, but it can handle spills and normal traffic nicely. It's pretty cheap too--less than $2/sq. ft.
