Miss Marple
He took the ACT on Saturday with his other brothers. This particular son has had more difficulty in math than his siblings (but they are more math gifted) and, although he is not behind in any way, he has always felt that he was lacking in the math arena. As he was working through his geometry and algebra today, he said, "Hey, this was on the ACT!" and later he said the same thing several more times. I commented that he now understood the importance of doing his daily work and he readily agreed with that. We talked about how school was his job right now and that, although he doesn't get a paycheck, the payback will occur when he is finished hopefully in the form of large merit scholarships, admission to his desired school, or internships/research opportunities. He is now on a mission to do well on the ACT which he knows will necessitate buckling down and doing the daily grind in math. Who knew that the experience would translate into a refocusing on the importance of his daily work :001_smile:
Brindee
That's awesome! I'm glad he took it to heart and is willing to work hard to do well!
