DVD or cd for Teaching Co. Foundations of Western Civilization I & II

Recommended Posts

I'm on lecture 47 out of 48 lectures of Western Civilization II. I bought the DVD's because I like to see the maps, footage, and pictures. There aren't that many but enough that I think that the DVD's are worth it. Remember only buy TCC when on sale!

I've watched some of WC I DVD's from the library, and it's excellent as well.

Did you find a science program?

Hi Nancy,

I haven't used these before, but the TC DVDs are on sale, so yesterday I purchased Western Civ II (I wanted to buy Western Civ I as well, but dd is studying that time period now... and even though I was tempted, it will end up on the shelf!) It got good reviews online... hoping it will be engaging... I am considering using it as primary viewing for my 9th grader... but may add in Omnibus III (dd loves history)...

Sorry can't be much help, if you need the discount code I can give it to you.

HTHs,

Sangita

Hi MIch elle,

I just purchased Western Civ II. Now I'm trying to decide how to use it! LOL! Are you using them or your dc? Did you add a text? If your dc is using the dvds, do they answer any questions/essays?

Thanks SO much,

Sangita

I am using Foundations of Western Civ I right now. I also used it several years ago with my older kids. We loved/love it! We are also reading Susan Wise Bauer's History of the Ancient World. I haven't been asking my son to do any essays but he is required to take notes and I watch the lecture with him and we discuss things and often look stuff up afterwards to dig deeper.
