Leanna Tomlinson
We bought this one 5 years ago and are very satisfied. http://www.christianbook.com/apologia-biology-microscope-131/pd/161012?kw=161012&en=froogle&p=1013824&cm_mmc=CBDfeeds-_-froogle-_-gifts-_-161012 FWIW- we did biology in a co-op setting; there were three microscopes available including ours. My dd said everyone wanted to use ours because it was easier to use and kept its focus as students moved from one microscope to another to look at different slides. The teacher confirmed that ours was by far the highest quality one of the group and bought the same kind for herself. HTH, Leanna
Jean in Wisc
This has been discussed off-and-on for a lot of years on this board. Many, many of us can tell you that Sonlight's Ultra Microscope is a great scope. I highly recommend it! Jean
Mom22ns
We got one very similar to this http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-40-1000x-Lab-Vet-Professional-Compound-Microscope-w_W0QQitemZ200457920400QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item2eac391f90#ht_4024wt_917 (they no longer carry the model we bought) from this company off of Ebay and have been very satisfied with it. If you are going to do high school biology, I would suggest you consider a scope that goes to 1000x so you can do oil immersion slides - but then I'm a science geek. Teachin'Mine
Has anyone bought this one from Sam's Club? http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/navigate.do?dest=5&item=168938 It has a five year warranty instead of lifetime like the 131, but it sounds pretty good for the cost. And this one from WalMart is digital and has an LCD display: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Celestron-LCD-Digital-Microscope/9219274?sourceid=1500000000000003260410&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=9219274#ShortReviewTitleBar Has anyone used this one??? Brenda in MA
I'll third Sonlight's microscope. We've had ours for 9 years now, and it's still going strong. Brenda
