TXMary2
I am embarrassed to say that I have never really attempted to teach my ds13 about artists or history of art. He has taken many an homeschool art class that covered projects like painting, drawing, clay and crafts, but he doesn't know how to identify works of art. The exception being the Mona Lisa. I have tried looking for an art history text with no luck. What do you/have you used?

TXMary2
I'd start with some Sister Wendy dvd's, or some of her art history books. She's a hoot. OK- I did see something by her on the cbd website. I will check it out further. Thanks!
AngieW in Texas
I'm considering OM's Study of Art or Study of Music. My library has a different edition of the book that OM uses for Study of Art, so I'm going to take a look at it this weekend. I don't know which my 9th grader would prefer to study - music or art. I would like for her to have one credit in fine arts. My 11th grader has done two semesters of drawing at the community college, so she has satisfied that requirement. My 9th grader doesn't want to actually DO art or music. I don't know which she'd prefer to study.
