Young man, 5th grade, Mom is seriously concerned for his grasp on grammar and wants to start using FLL. But where to start? And she's new to the WTM/Trivium idea...but loves the method. Brenda in FL Posted March 17, 2010 Share Posted March 17, 2010 If you already know that you want to use FLL, I would suggest using level 4 since he is in 5th grade. If its just grammar that you are worried about and he's pretty much on grade level for his other subjects - I would see no need in doing the earlier books. In fact he may find FLL 4 too easy with too much review. We also use Rod and Staff grammar after FLL - and you probably could just pick up the 5th grade book and work thoroughly through it.
