Hopewell
I have posted my review of Singapore's physical science at my blog http://hopewellmomschoolreborn.blogspot.com/2010/03/review-of-singapore-interactive-science.html Please be aware that I am using this with a chronic under-achieving boy newly pulled out of an under-performing public school!! Your "results may vary" if you know what I mean!
Nicole M
We're using level A of Interactive Science, and I went ahead and ordered the practical book, despite their dire warnings. We've been able to do most of the labs quite easily. I'm surprised and sorry that you had trouble with the shipping. Did you order directly from Singapore.com? I've always had great luck getting my stuff quickly from them. We read, take notes on the chapter, then do the practicals and the theory workbook exercises. It's been swell so far. You're right, though, it's a lot of books -- but the quality is so much better than anything else we've found, I think it's worth it. I also like that the math concepts in the science follow along nicely with NEM. I wish more folks were using it, because I'd love to be able to talk about. I'm not especially science-y, but also much prefer my science to be religion-free.
Hopewell
Yes, I ordered from the company. Nicol: I wondered about that, but most of the stuff he did see done in public school--just chose to get an F so has to do it all over to get credit!
