Guest
I'm looking for a plant encyclopedia for 1st grade science next year. Here's the DK Eyewitness book on Plants that I'm considering; are there any other good suggestions for a general, colorful plant book for that age? Thanks! :)
Satori
I found it hard to surprisingly find a good dedicated plant encyclopedia for this age range! The ones I liked were out of print. Coincidentally I was in the market for this today and picked a used copy of this book off Amazon: World of Plants: Internet-Linked (Library of Science) But no reviews or Look Inside feature so I'm hoping it's ok! I'm still open to some good suggestions. If this arrives and I like it, I'll try to remember to post here about it.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of this one.
Lovedtodeath
I love the DK e-guide. It is plenty without the internet links. I think it is way more than you need for that age though.

So funny...I just picked this up at the used bookstore today. Here is the table of contents, in anyone else is interested: Plants and fungi Plant cells Stems and roots Plant tissue Inside older plants Leaves Leaf structure Movement of fluids Plant food Plant sensitivity Flowering plants Seeds and fruit New plants from old Water plants Flowerless plants Fungi Fighting for survival Plant lifestyles Plants and people Natural cycles Classifying plants Genetics Useful plants and fungi HTH
