Joanne
He wants to "try latin" again but doesn't want to do Lively Latin with the youngers because he gets bored (which leads to other issues! :001_huh:). I'm going to a homeschool store tomorrow, so ideas that are readily found and traded in the homeschool community are welcome.
In The Great White North
Dd (in 9th) is doing Henle, totally on her own. She's not thrilled with it but is determined to finish Henle I this year so she doesn't have to do Latin next year. She's following MODG's "faster" syllabus. If your 9th grader likes extras (and the Internet), there is a ton of stuff on line for Wheelock (very similar to Henle - parts to whole). Henle doesn't have much online, but dd doesn't have unlimited access to a computer anyway. If he is a whole to parts person, Cambridge or Lingua Latina would be better, and both have stuff online to play with.
Carmen_and_Company
Oxford is a whole-to-parts latin program with tons of online support via games, flashcards, and grammar exercises. We also use Latin Book I, which you can download for free along with the answers from the Yahoo group. Look in the files for the text & answer key. Quiver0f10
My 11th grader started Henle on his own when he was in 9th.
Jenn in CA
Lingua Latina. You can find posts here on the boards about it. Great for someone w/natural language ability who wants to "figure it out" himself. It's all in Latin, no English at all.
rwjx2khsmj
I'd go for First Form. It could easily be done on your own, especially with the DVDs but they wouldn't be necessary.
