jfletcher8091
Hands of a Child has a couple of lapbooks on American Indians. These can work really well for a unit study, especially if you flesh them out a little with some extra reading books. http://www.handsofachild.com/shop/A-Historical-Look-at-American-Indians-Project-Pack-P1340.aspx http://www.handsofachild.com/shop/Lets-Learn-About-American-Indians-Project-Pack-P1344.aspx
lisak
I second the Hands of a Child studies. We haven't used these yet, but are on this year's list. Another recommendation would be Evan-Moore books. We used a portion of the Southwest Indian book last year along with the Josephina American Girl books. I just noticed they have a history pocket book for grades 1 - 3. Those books are also a hit at my house.
Irene Lynn
Years ago we did a very thorough study using KONOS. Our dd still remembers it better than many things we have done. We spent about 6 months on it.
Sue G in PA
We are using the Evan Moore History Pockets for Native Americans. It's not a "true" unit study, but it is fun. You could check out CurrClick.com for some unit studies on Indians...they'll probably have some. Good luck.
