If he read 236532 the first hour, 218341 the second hour, how many pages did he read the third hour if his average speed was 215325 wpm. I set it up with 236532+218341+x(over 3 but it won't let me put that in the post) = 215325 The answer is not coming out correctly. Am I totally insane? Why am I so lame? This happens all the time with my Physics students. I set it up right, but was rushing through the addition and mult in my head and didn't have a number right. I'm (ahem) not very good at word problems, so I watch the CD's to see how the author solves the problems. My dd uses only the book, but I've found the CD's to be very helpful for me.
