Why has my hearing ability suddenly increased?

This is so weird. I can hear dh's watch ticking right now. But if I turn my head and look at it, I can no longer hear it.

Two days ago, I noticed that I could hear dh's teeth clicking together when he chews. I didn't say anything, but it is very annoying. Sigh.

My hearing hasn't been this acute in years. It feels very strange.

I have no knowledge of your health, but from working in mental health for years (and years!) I know that many people experience a significant increase in sensory perception (colors become brighter, sounds sharper and clearer, touch is more sensitive) when they either come out of a depressive episode or are entering a manic episode.

The way I always hear it described is "everything seems more, somehow".

[ not saying this is what you're experiencing - only that this is all I've got  ]

Thanks for answering. I've never had a manic episode but I have had episodes of mild depression on and off for years. Right now I can honestly say I feel healthier and more vibrant than I've felt in a very long time. In fact I feel positively normal, lol. It's very ironic if good health is responsible for annoying me. :glare:
