Any & all info/opinions on Holt, Glencoe McGraw-Hill, Core-Plus, Discovering Algebra?

Recommended Posts

Our public school district is considering these programs as they choose a new high school math curriculum. As a concerned parent, I'd like to get any and all opinions from the Hive.

Of particular concern of mine is the inclusion of traditional math. Our current program is a reform math, or "discovery" type program that neither parents nor kids understand.

TIA

I've been researching the geometry, do google searches to double check me, but I read some bad reviews about Discovering Geometry. Good ideas, bad implementation. I also read a few not so good about Glencoe Geometry. I have heard good about Glencoe Algebra from a relative who teaches math. Jann in TX gave me a good recommendation for an older Holt Geometry, but I don't know how it differs from the recent edition. Another review online gave a very good review to the 2002 edition of Holt Geometry.
