Can I prewrap pineapple in bacon?

I am hosting bookclub tonight and would like to make these ahead of time. Something in the back of my head makes me think that wrapping fruit and letting it sit with raw meat for any length of time is not a good thing to do.


Can I prewrap the pineapple in bacon and cook it a few hours later or will bookclub come to a quick end?

I'm thinking, "No," also.


Even if it were okay to have the raw meat and fruit together I think the salt from the bacon would draw out the moisture from the pineapple and you'd wind up with a mess.


But I could be 100% totally wrong. It's been known to happen. LOL.
