Bloggers: I'm noticing something odd in my site stats. Ideas?

Recommended Posts

I have noticed several people each day coming to a particular entry on my blog.

They all come through Google. But no search terms are listed. In other words, they didn't come to my blog by searching for "brand new boys' jeans," or whatever. When I look to see how they arrived on my site, it just says "Referrer: Google."

And yet - these are people from around the world. And they all come to the same entry. They all come with no referrer.

Do you have any ideas why or how they might get a link to that entry? It doesn't look like another blog or webpage somewhere has linked to it.

I'm not certain if I should be creeped out or not.

Here's the specific entry, if that helps.

Happy Fath- Wait. What?

Thanks!

they bookmarked your website after viewing that particular page. Is it an entry you passed around for people to admire?

No. I don't usually do that.

It might be something that someone *else* passed around, but then wouldn't the "referrer" just be a direct link to that page, and not Google?

Honestly, I am such a newbie to this blogging. How do you even know that people have come to your blog? I don't know unless someone leaves a comment under one of my entries. Here is the link to mine

http://brierywood.blogspot.com/ I have short videos that we put together to share with dd and her family in Germany. We also put up photos for Wordless Wednesday. Where would I look to see if I have had visitors?

Would it be someone who has subscribed to your blog through google reader? Then they click out of google (reader) but not through a search?

Hmm.... maybe. Except that it's a LOT of people. 3-4 a day, every day, since July or so. They can't all be subscribers, but maybe someone's e-mailing a link? It's not an especially funny entry, though. :)

Google reader is an idea. I'll have to experiment and see if that's it.
