Tree House Academy
I know this has been done, but I am curious to see how many have changed their minds as time has passed and more info has become available. If you want to elaborate, please do...but no conspiracy theories please. ;)
Tree House Academy
I am undecided and leaning toward no. Undecided because even my sons' doctor is not recommending the shot and has some reservations. By "my son's doctor," I mean the entire practice of about 6 doctors. They are, however, getting the vaccine for H1N1 and will give it out based on the tier to those who request it. I am not going to say, "no way - never" though. I know we won't get the mist. Beyond that, it will depend on lots of factors and how this plays out. Our area is just now getting hit hard.
mchel210
haa...IM the first yes. OH well. I think I will let my kids get it...and I will get it. My husband says the police dept. might give it to him as well.
BigMamaBird
I voted no. No one in our family are in any risk categories. And, we've already had the flu this autumn, so it's sort of like closing the barn door after the horse is out.
Daisy
Still no. Our son had negative reactions to the seasonal flu shot so we prefer to avoid it altogether.
Dayle in Guatemala
We won't be getting one, only because we aren't in any of the risky categories and even if we were, it isn't available here.
plain jane
We're not planning on getting it at this time. I'm not 100% comfortable with this decision but it is what both dh and I feel is the best decision for our family at this time. I am however, taking every other precaution that I can- changing diet, making sure everyone gets enough sleep, keeping stress levels to a minimum, and limiting exposure to crowds and coughing, feverish soccer players. ;)
DesertDweller
A no vote for our family. We don't get the regular flu shots because we are all healthy and have seldom had the regular flu. In the past, if we did get a virus or the flu, it was usually mild and lasted a couple days.

Tree House Academy
Bump. :)
elegantlion
I'm fairly certain it has already made its rounds in our household. I was sick for a week, ds for two days, and dh not at all. We will not get the vaccine, we do not get regular flu vaccines either.
rockermom
Nope. I try my best to model myself after Elegantlion. :D How's it going, Paula?
JenneinCA
The kids and I are not in any risk category. We will not be getting the shot. My husband is in a high risk category. If/when they become available for his level of risk, he may get the shot. He is significantly overweight and is on long term breathing medicine for COPD, an asthma like problem. I worry more about his breathing than the risks of the shot.
Mommyof4ks
No, we will probably get the flu before the shots are available anyway. The mist is a no-no with my kiddos' conditions. We have two kids in high risk groups, but their docs are not 'impressed' by this flu.
nova147
I'm getting it for sure, because of the pregnancy. Kiddos? Maybe, waiting to hear the ped's opinion. DH? Nope. He doesn't do shots. :-)
