Antonia Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Mine is artificial with glass beads and berries, so it wasn't *totally* christmas-sy, more winter-y, but still... Quote
~Tara~ Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Um, well, didn't have a wreath up. However, I did just finally get rid of the last of my snowmen. Eldest had been helping with that one day...ooooh last month some time ?? and he forgot a couple of things. We *just* got those put away this week (or last, I can't keep any of it straight anymore :p ) Does that count? Quote
Emmy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 not me, but my christmas tree skirt is sitting on the dryer waiting for me to fold it and put it away. Quote
Holly IN Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I just took mine down a month ago after it has been up for 3 years (yup 3 years I kept my Christmas wreath up. hee hee :willy_nilly: I am not kidding. My dh took it down. :D Holly Quote
Diana in OR Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I hung my wreath in the living room this year since it fits the decor--it's green and gold and no other colors. Like Antonia said, it's more "winter" in its look. Of course I didn't just take it down!! (It's still up ;) ) I took down my wall hanging card holder exactly one week ago today. Quote
OnTheBrink Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Well, my wooden cut out snow-man is still on the porch, but he fell, so he's face down. I had my son take the Christmas lights down this past weekend. I hadn't turned them on since New Year's, but they were annoying me, being left up. Quote
mcconnellboys Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 No, LOL, but I just noticed that I still have a Christmas tree door mat on my front step..... Regena Quote
Stirsmommy Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Mine came down yesterday. I felt bad doing it even then. It too was more wintery and it was made of real green that still look good. It seems like a waste but yesterday the snow was melting and I just took it down. Got almost three inches of snow last night so I am back to winter with no wreath. HMPH! Quote
j.griff Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I used a grapevine wreath, and finally took the Christmasy stuff off near Valentines, and instead put felt hearts on it with pipecleaners LOL, now it has green felt shamrocks and a little leprechaun on a stick :D Quote
Cindy in C-ville Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Me too! I just took mine down yesterday. Mine was boxwood with all sorts of dried berries, pods, etc. Springtime has come in VA! :) Cindy Quote
anewday Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Uh...uh huh. :seeya: Forgot it was up all this time! Hee hee! It's a very small, artificial pine thingamabob with a few fake winter fruits on it. Which reminds me too that I need a new one for next Christmas. :D Quote
JFSinIL Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 and had been for a while, but I just tossed the neighbor's newspapers up onto their porch and lo and behold, their wreath is still up ;-) Quote
Dee22 Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Not a wreath but a snowman flag and decoration :) Pretty sad about the outdoor flag since it is in the 60's this week and trees are starting to flower.:blushing: Quote
Tutor Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 My wreath is still up, and it worked! We got snow here in Dixie a few days a go! Yay! We traditionally take our tree and other decorations down the day after Valentine's Day. Actually, the ornaments come off the tree in mid-January and we redecorate it for "Daddy Appreciation Day" then we decorate it for Valentine's Day and then we take it down. Dh and I go the flu this year, though, so we are behind in getting everything down. Quote
Brenda in FL Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Well, my wreath got put away in a reasonable time - But we are still eating off my Christmas dishes! And just yesterday we removed the paper snowflakes from the french doors (but I considered those "winter" decorations anyway ;). Quote
Meliss Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I still have mine up! I took the ornaments and bow off of it so that it is plain evergreen with pine cones, but... Quote
3littlekeets Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Nope -- but I did just finally take the tree box to attic, LOL. It has been sitting in my family room. UGH! Quote
6packofun Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 came up to my door with several packages and as I came outside to greet him he said, "Merry Christmas!" I laughed and said something about it being like Christmas when I get so many boxes and he said, "Yeah, but it's even better when you don't take down your Christmas window clings! hehehe!!" Smarty pants! I took it down right there in front of him. LOL (All in good fun--we get a lot of deliveries so he's been waiting to see if I'd take the dumb things down on my own. :tongue_smilie: ) Quote
Krista in LA Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 so that I could put up my Mardi Gras wreath. That one did stay up a bit longer than it should have though....:blushing: Quote
Robin Hood Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I used a grapevine wreath, and finally took the Christmasy stuff off near Valentines, and instead put felt hearts on it with pipecleaners LOL, now it has green felt shamrocks and a little leprechaun on a stick :D I have 2 still up and no box to put them in to keep them safe, so I was considering putting appropriate holiday ornaments in them to go along with the Christmas berries. Quote
Kristiana Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Mine's still up. Last year it was May before I took it down. I like my front door with a wreath on it, but it's the only one I have! Quote
Jennifer in NH Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I just took mine down last week!:o I was so used to seeing it there, I really forgot all about it and didn't see it anymore...if that makes sense! Quote
Laura Corin Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 We are saved by Chinese New Year - we put up our CNY door decorations (fish this year) a few weeks ago. Laura Quote
HomeOnTheRanch Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Mine is still up! The Christmas tree stand is on the back porch and the Christmas tree is laying in the grass. The 2 feet of snow we got after Christmas finally melted off of it so now we can drag it to the woodpile. (We as in kids, not we as in me). My wreath is a fake I made based on a Martha Stewart special after 9-11. It has a gold ribbon with red, white, and blue ribbons on top of the gold. Two little American flags stuck in the bow at the top. My own addition was a white dove. I have two bright green totes I use for all my Christmas decorations. They are currently sitting behind the couch overflowing with decorations. I really want to sort through them and purge stuff we don't use before putting them back in storage in the garage. I'm planning on being off visiting relatives for Christmas next year, so I would love to not have to even drag them out 8 months from now! Quote
*anj* Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 It wasn't a wreath, but a little wooden Christmas tree that hangs on the bottom of a welcome sign. I replaced it with a leprechaun. I wonder if he'll stay for Easter. Quote
Kris Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Mine would probably still be up if I hadn't put up a heart for Valentine's and then a shamrock for St. Patrick's Day. Picked up my spring wreath today -- which will probably double for summer. :-) Quote
Unicorn. Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 It's good to know I'm not alone in this world! And no, my Christmas decorations have all been put away since Jan. Well, except for the 2 boxes sitting in my living room that have the little light up church, and clock tower in them. Oh, and the Grinch and Christmas tree made of paper that my dd painted 3 years ago, but they don't ever get put up, so they don't count! :D Quote
tlcmom Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 It is turning brown so I guess it is time.:iagree: Quote
