Mom-ninja.
Which is your favorite movie version of the book? There are several on Netflix.
Firefly
I like the one with Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes and Winona Ryder. We just watched it last weekend in fact! The kids had read abridged versions of the book and I wanted them to see the movie.

Ellie
:iagree: This one is the closest to the book, and the one that feels *real.*
BridgeTea
I'm partial to the 1949 version. (June Allyson is a feisty Jo, and Margaret O'Brien melts your heart.) That's the sentimental me. But, yes, Susan Sarandon's version was very, very good! Order both!

The kids had read abridged versions of the book and I wanted them to see the movie. I enjoyed this version as well. my son was in 4th grade when we watched it together. He loved it too. I remember seeing the movie in the theater with my mom. My family prefers action adventure to classics so when I watched with my son I kept seeing Batman, Spiderman's girlfriend, and John Conner's girlfriend.
danybug
We own the Susan Sarandon, Winona Ryder version as well. I agree that it is the version that I felt I truly saw the characters that I envsioned when I read the book.
Ellie
I always think of it as Winona Ryder's version, not Susan Sarandon's.:D
Dawn in OH
I like the one with Susan Sarandon, Claire Danes and Winona Ryder. We just watched it last weekend in fact! The kids had read abridged versions of the book and I wanted them to see the movie. We like this version also. My husband bought a copy for myself and my daughter a few years ago at Christmas. We seem to watch at least once every few months now.

Mom-ninja.
Wow, I guess it's settled. Batman's girlfriend it is.
Macrina
OK my fav overall is Ryder's version mostly because of Christian Bale <sigh>, but how come nobody mentioned Kathryn Hepburn's 1033 version? She is really a VERY good Jo. We've seen them all! We're Little Women Junkies.
