siloam
Here is the webiste. I have visual spacial learners, so this has me very interested. Obviously it won't cover all of High School math, but it looks like it gives a solid foundation in how to think through it. Heather
kiana
I used it myself as a child -- I think that it provided an excellent foundation in algebraic thought processes for when I took "real" algebra later. I am a huge fan of this program :D
Matryoshka
A bunch of overwhelmingly positive posts here convinced me to buy this earlier this year. We've gotten through the first bunch of lessons. I think it'll be great to really get them to understand the basic concepts of algebra so when we get there it'll be easier, but yeah, it's not a complete curriculum. We did some this summer and I'm hoping to fit it in on Fridays during the year.
Kareni
There have been some favorable reviews of this on the Yahoo group Homeschooling Creatively which is a group that focuses on homeschooling right-brained or creative learners. I don't feel comfortable re-posting the conversations here, so you may wish to consider joining the group. Regards, Kareni
Mom0012
I read about it a few months ago on this board and decided to give it a try for my son. He worked through the level 1 lessons and now we are doing 1 - 2 level 1 word problems a day. I'm really pleased with how this is working out. When he's done all the level 1 word problems, we'll move on to level 2. Someone on this board had recommended stretching the program out over a few years by using it this way. Blessedwithboys
I have bought this but haven't started yet. I plan to use it as a supplement to our exsisting math program (Rod & Staff), probably on Fridays. However, my boys have been slowly trudging through their math lessons lately, so I haven't gotten it out yet. :glare:
Crimson Wife
I ordered this but it hasn't yet arrived. My DH pushed me to get it because he wants our DD introduced to algebraic thinking. I'll most likely do it as a unit between when she finishes her current math book (probably late fall or early winter) and when she starts the next one. Lisa That's how we did it. We finished the whole program in about five minutes a day for about two years. DS things he's brilliant and eagerly anticipates real algebra. Big thumbs up.
