Robin in Tx Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I thought for a while (on the old board) Drew posted as Mungo. Am I remembering wrong? Or is Mungo somebody else? I am always getting confused when I see Mrs. Mungo, because I always think she is Drew's wife, but I know that's not so... Did I just get Drew and Mungo confused on the old board? This is not at all important, I know... just trying to satisfy curiosity! LOL Quote
Mama Lynx Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 You are correct. Drew used to post as Mungo, but is now Plaid Dad. And Mrs. Mungo is not Drew's wife :) Quote
PrairieAir Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was confused by this! :confused1::blushing::001_smile: Quote
Robin in Tx Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Mystery solved! Thanks so much for the info... Robin Quote
Unicorn. Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 I believe it is from "The Hobbit" (or LOTR), dh knows, but he's asleep. Quote
Plaid Dad Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 So, where does the name Mungo come from? The Hobbit Name Generator. At least that's where I originally got the name. I've been using Plaid Dad on these boards for a while now, but I still show up as Mungo on a few other forums (Memoria Press's, for example). My own dw, Anne, did just join the boards so that she could report on my surgery. Her user name is waxwing. :) Quote
Friederike in Persia Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 as in a Roman toga? Been wondering about this and here seems a chance to ask. Quote
Kay in Cal Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Wow! You got me! I did know that Plaid Dad was Mungo (of old), but I really did think that Mrs. Mungo was Plaid Dad's wife! No... that's Waxwing. My world is resolving into focus.... Quote
Plaid Dad Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 My family name is Scottish. Hence the plaid bit. :) The Roman stuff relates to my book. Quote
Mrs Mungo Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Nope, I'm not his wife. In fact, I posted on the old boards (where I was Jenmom) that I post elsewhere as Mrs Mungo. Once he changed his name and the boards changed I went ahead and used the name I use on other boards. For me it comes from Harry Potter. St. Mungo's is where they threaten to send the insane people. I often feel insane, hence Mrs Mungo. ;) Quote

Storm Bay Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 The Hobbit Name Generator. At least that's where I originally got the name. I've been using Plaid Dad on these boards for a while now, but I still show up as Mungo on a few other forums (Memoria Press's, for example). :) Wow, you can tell how long it's been since I read The Hobbit (third grade) and LOTR (c. 18 yo). There are just so many other things I want to read it's hard to go back. I can't bear to see the movies because they would have had to take so much out. Quote
Robin in Tx Posted March 14, 2008 Author Posted March 14, 2008 I didn't figure this out until I realized that Mrs. Mungo lives in Hawaii... I knew something was fishy then! LOL I remember Jenmom from the old board, but I missed all the name change posts. Quote
Mrs Mungo Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I didn't figure this out until I realized that Mrs. Mungo lives in Hawaii... I knew something was fishy then! LOL I remember Jenmom from the old board, but I missed all the name change posts. It doesn't help that I moved from North Carolina to Hawai'i over the holidays and came back in the midst of the board changing over. Sorry! Quote
