ThelmaLou Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I've purchased tall sizes from Eddie Bauer in the past. But they're just slightly longer than the regular shirts. By the time they shrink (100% cotton) there's not much difference. I bought a stack of t-shirts in several different solid colors last year from Costco. They were really long and they were made by a company called Skinny Minnie. Sadly, these are no longer available. Apparently, these were the unprinted shirts that Skinny Minnie uses as a basis for their boutique creations. I guess they had an overstock, because they sold the solid ones at Costco. I even called the company directly. (It costs close to $40 to get the printed boutique version. Yikes! I just want a basic solid color tee that's long!) Anyhow, I'm still on the lookout for some long, short-sleeved t-shirts. I prefer a more fitted shirt with contour, not just a boxy t-shirt. I like the shape of the Eddie Bauer tees, but the length isn't long enough. Thanks! Quote
Brigitte Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I bought some at The Gap (not my fav. store, but...). I think I saw them in the ads for Kohls and Old Navy recently. Quote
Ferdie Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I agree with you that the Eddie Bauer tall t-shirts are not that long. I love the teen t-shirts from JC Penney. They are not tall, but run really long. You will need to buy a few sizes bigger than normal because they are very fitted, (I normally wear an Eddie Bauer LT and I order the Junior Plus size in these). Here is a link to a v-neck version. They carry crew neck too: http://www2.jcpenney.com/jcp/X6.aspx?DeptID=50455&CatID=51751&GrpTyp=SIZ&ItemID=13c7245&attrtype=&attrvalue=&CmCatId=50455|50456|51751 Tallwomensclothes.com also carries long t-shirts but they are more expensive - about $30 + shipping. Good luck! Quote
Harriet Vane Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I got a few a couple years ago--I think they still have the tall tees. Quote
Lady_Dulcinea Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I think Old Navy's t-shirts are a bit longer. I haven't shopped there much, but my tall friend likes Old Navy. Quote
StacyWithFourRugrats Posted March 12, 2008 Posted March 12, 2008 Yep, that tall friend would be me ;) Old Navy is one of the few places I can find shirts that are long enough. They are relatively inexpensive and I can generally find a good number that I like. Quote
ThelmaLou Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Thanks for the tips! I looked online at the JC Penney tees, and they look promising. While I'm at the mall I'll stop in at Gap, too. Plus I have a $10 credit voucher at Old Navy, which is right by my mall. Certainly I'll find something at one of these 3 stores. I appreciate the suggestions! Quote
