Rainbows
I need to add something to my RR order.....do you prefer the thick foam pattern blocks or the magnetic ones? thanks!
MamaReads
I have foam, I wish I had magnetic. The foam ones move too easily.
yvonne
I prefer the wood, but my kids preferred the magnetic ones because they don't slide around if the table gets bumped or someone gets too excited or... They did the magnetic ones on a magnetic board and could make their design and carry it over to show me. Now that they're older, they like to use the wood ones to build 3D things. yvonne
maryhob
I also prefer the wood but I could see where the magnetic ones would be less frustrating if someone bumps the table. We have some foam puzzles and I think they wouldn't stay in place all that well.
sweetgeo
I have the plastic ones, and they can be bumped/nudged a little too easily, so that you're constantly re-aligning the blocks a little, so I would go for the magnetic ones for stability, provided you have an appropriate metal surface to use with them. imhim
I have the wood ones - my 6 yo does well with them, my 4yo gets frustrated with them sometimes.
CherylG
We had wood and foam. Foam is great when they are younger they kind of stick. Wood is my favorite and still get used. Magnetic would be great for the slipping factor, too.
Elizabeth Conley
The wooden ones seem to be the most enduring value. Kids from 2 to 92 seem to enjoy them. People who are very young may do better if you put a cheap piece of non-slip drawer liner down for them to place their blocks on. You should be able to pick this up from a dollar retailer.
