swimnactmom
We started homeschooling in 4th grade (age 10) but didn't discover Writing Strands until 5th grade. So we started Level 3 at age 11 in 5th grade.
Beth in Central TX
TWTM (2nd edition) recommends starting WS in 3rd grade and aiming to finish WS 4 by the end of 4th grade. The publisher recommends WS 2 for 2nd grade.
Ellie
TWTM (2nd edition) recommends starting WS in 3rd grade and aiming to finish WS 4 by the end of 4th grade. The publisher recommends WS 2 for 2nd grade. Each level of Writing Strands is one semester's worth of writing. The author assumes you'll be doing reading/literature for the other half (or writing and reading/literature interspersed throughout the year). Also, the author says that Level 2 is the only one that is truly grade-level oriented. The others are exprience levels, not grade levels.
