Amy+2
Language Lessons for Little Ones Volume 2~Would this be a good "go-along" with ETC?? Trying to figure out what to do for phonics with my 6yos. We finished McRuffy K a few months ago(we did enjoy it btw), but I don't want to continue with McRuffy 1. So, right now I am exploring ALL of my options. Any thoughts or opinions welcome! If you have a favorite phonics for first grade level, I would love to hear about it!:)
King Alfred Academy
I plan on doing just that with my Ker (youngest son) next year. He is currently doing the Get Ready for the Code books and enjoys them. I just started the LL for the Very Young with my first grader and my younger son likes to sit in on it. I am also planning to add Happy Phonics mainly because he is a hands on learner and I think the games would help with reinforcement. I'll be watching this post to see what others say. :)
OneRoomHomeSchool
If your doing ETC book 1, then yes, I think you would want Lang Lessons for LITTLE ONES book 2. ;) Definitely NOT book 1....some kids *might* be ready for book 3, but I think book 2 is perfect if your JUST beginning ETC. Amy+2
Uh-OH!! We will be using ETC books 2 and 3. I just looked at the preview pages of Language Lessons on Queen's site. We used ETC for PreK- A, B, & C and since we used McRuffy K last Fall, and finished it, I think we will need to definitely start with Volume 3. My only fear with going this route is what readers to incorporate with it. Any suggestions?? Are the readers on Queens site too beginner?? Thanks so much for your responses!:D

We used ETC for PreK- A, B, & C I think I may run into the same problem. We are doing the ETC primers now, but I don't think he'll be ready for vol. 3 next year...I was planning on vol 2 with ETC books 1-? I got on queen's site, but could not find where it mentioned using the primers with vol. 2. Am I missing something? Thanks!
Amy+2
They don't mention any supplements on their site. I was just responding to the fact that after seeing their preview pages, I think we are far enough along in phonics to start with their Volume 3. ;)

Maybe??? this part of the discription will help you decide if vol 2 will work with the primers: - the first book, Wags, contains only short "a" words, used in an engaging story about Wags, a Lab, who gets into some trouble in the park! If your child can sound out the consanents, and short "a", he can read this whole book! Each book that follows adds a new short vowel sound
