astrid
You know, the author of Angela's Ashes and Teacher Man? He was a lovely man; we used to see him quite often around town, and in a neat little coffee shop in the next town over. Very kind and funny. A real regular Joe. D*mn cancer. elizabeth
God be good to him. This author took the poverty , ignorance and violence suffered by many and assumed to be their lot in life and elavated their very survival into a noble act . May he rest in peace. plimsoll
I would add that he was a great teacher and served as an inspiration to many, many students at Stuyvesant H.S., myself included.
