I had a little "accident" with the roller while priming some walls yesterday and spattered white primer all over myself. I quickly jumped in the shower and scrubbed down with paint thinner (yuck!) and washed my hair with regular shampoo/conditioner. My hair is still completely full of primer! I look ridiculous, esp. because my hair is long and dark brown. Of course, I leave in the morning to drive from NC to TX to see my entire family...

Anyone have any ideas on how to get primer out of my hair safely...tonight? :glare: I hesitate to use the paint thinner because I'm afraid it will damage my hair, but that's the only suggestion I can find on the internet.

The only way I've found is to use a fine tooth comb and scrub it out. On skin it helps if the cleaner has something abrasive, I wonder if the grit of something like baking soda would help?

warm water and soap will work with acrylic paint

if oil based you can use hand cleaner-D&L works best-on your skin but isnt the best for your hair.Baby oil will take it out of your hair but then you have to get the oil out of the hair.Under no circumstances do you want paint thinner to come into contact with your hair or any sensitive body area.

Thanks, ladies. I got desperate and went for the paint thinner. Nasty stuff, but it worked. I did it as fast as I could and took an immediate shower. Now, I'm deep conditioning.

All I can say at this point is that I am no longer white, no longer stinky and my hair is still very brown! We'll see how dry it is in the morning...:tongue_smilie:
