momto2Cs
I am pretty sure I have everything planned out for next year, but am still tempted by Oak Meadow 1 for my dd6 and OM 3 for my ds8. How well did these work for your kids? Were you satisfied with the program or did you end up supplementing a lot? I am thinking my minor dissatisfaction with it last year was due to not fully going with it, if you know what I mean. Pros, cons, tips, stuff you really liked/disliked in either of these grades/years?

In the Rain
I used OM1 for dd's K year. She loved it! She loved the tongue twisters, the math stories, and the fairy tales. We only used it for about 3 months. After that, I made up my own math stories in a similar style. It laid a very solid math foundation. She was already reading, and hated duplicating the letter drawings, so we abandoned that. We did talk about the word families as spelling practice. She really loved parts of the program, so I suppose it was worth it for that. She certainly hasn't expressed similar affection for anything else we've used. We did work with the rhymes and tongue twisters all year. When I recall how much she initially loved the program, I am always tempted to review the sample pages for other levels. Dh felt it was too much money for what we got.
