Guest Lorna
What writing programme are you glad you used and what do you regret spending too much time on? This is a follow up question from Lux and Veritas Academy's revealing thread.
happykids
Very effective, easy to use, easy to teach, great results, kids love it. Best homeschool money I have spent in 14 years of homeschooling! Sabrina in NY
Sandra in NC
It's the best program we've found. I only wish I'd started my kids w/IEW in elementary school.
Jeannie in NJ
IEW. It is amazing how much dd's writing has improved since we started IEW 3 years ago.

Cynde
I'll offer up some other programs. My favorites were Writeshop I and II and Write at Home. We used Writeshop for middle school and Write at Home for high school (grades 9-11). Dc and I loved both. Both were great preparation for honors college composition at our community college which they breezed through. BTW, I've never seen IEW, so this isn't meant to say anything negative about it. Guest Lorna
IEW looks like quite a success story. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences!
Gwen in VA
For junior high we strongly recommend WriteShop I & II. For early high school to improve essay-writing skills we have used The Lively Art of Writing -- cheap and VERY good. It's from the 60's and the suggested topics for the writing assignments show it, but for working on style the book can't be beat.
Karen in CO
IEW is the best writing program I have bought. I wish I had gotten it years ago. I also loved Write at Home. I was good to have an outside evaluation of my son's writing.
