Riverfront Headmistress
I would like a tried and true recipe for my front-load HE washing machine.
Crystal in VA
I have been using a recipe that I found on the Duggar's Family website for our front loader. We've used it for over a month now...so far so good. Our clothes look pretty clean to me. I also use vinegar in the bleach tray for smelly clothes and as a rinse agent in the rinse cycle. And no...the clothes don't smell like vinegar once they're dry. :001_smile: Here's the link: laundry soap
Aunty Social
If you use powder, here's one that I've cobbled together. It seems to work really well - gets out most stains (although I recently discovered it doesn't work on red wine:glare:) and my whites are white not dingy yellow. It's been tested through digging in the garden season, so it really gets out dirt too, LOL. 1 bar Fels Naptha soap, grated 1 bar Ivory soap, grated 2 cups borax 2 cups washing soda 1 cup oxygen bleach 1 cup baking soda 10 – 30 drops essential oil, your choice, optional Combine all ingredients in food processor, process until powdered consistency and well blended. Use 2 heaping tbl. per load. I also use white vinegar in my rinse. Just fill the rinse dispenser to the line.
