runninmommy
Look at this baby I pulled out of the garden. (The cucumber, not the boy:lol:) This year, I am growing yard long cucumbers just for fun. Thought some fellow gardeners may appreciate the photo.
Michelle in MO
That is huge! You both are quite the gardeners! (I'm not a fellow gardener; just a gardener wannabe!)
Big Buckin' Longhorn
That's humongous! Do y'all eat them when they're that big? I always heard that veggies don't taste good if you leave them on the vine too long . . . but that could just be what my grandparents told us so that we'd get out into the garden. I've never seen anything like that! Aunty Social
That's amazing! Is it a special strain?

runninmommy
 You guys are funny. This is a special strain. They are "yard long" cucumbers, so they are supposed to get that big. I do pick most of them before they do though b/c the skin can be tough but the flesh is wonderful no matter how big it gets. I swear they taste exactly the same as a small ones. They do look quite funny though. They also make yard long green beans. Maybe I'll try those next year.
elise1mds
I can only imagine trying to eat my way through that. I'd be sharing the wealth! That's crazy-big and very cool. I bet the kids are loving it.
Tree House Academy
Love it! We grew a squash last year that made that look small and it was NOT on purpose. It was utterly hilarious. Of course, it would have tasted awful, so we pitched it, but it sure was impressive to look at!
Jean in Newcastle
The long beans are very good (if they are the same kind you can get at the Chinese market). I have a good recipe for them.
