Mommyof4ks
after being on the antibiotics for 24 hours they were no longer contagious. This is what I have heard to, but in your case I would be torn too.
Unicorn.
24 hours is the general rule. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections though, not viral, and I've never personally heard of anyone getting sick by being around someone who has a sinus infection. If it were me, I would let them play, but I would be extra careful about washing/sanitizing hands- and be vigilant about not rubbing my own eyes or nose- which is the quickest way to spread cold germs. hth and good luck w/ your surgery! Starr
24 hours and fever free for 24 hours. I don't think a sinus infection is that contagious unless she still has a goopy nose.
Ravin
It's usually 24 hours before returning to work/school with something contagious like conjunctivitis. With a sinus infection, the antibiotics are irrelevant to whether the virus is still active and communicable, because they treat a bacterial infection and do squat for any viral infection. I'd make sure she doesn't sneeze on you, and avoid handling her tissues, etc., and wash your hands frequently. You should be fine.
