farmmom4him
I am wanting to do a wall timeline this year with my children. I am a bit befuddled as to how to go about it. We are using Truthquest as our history. I would like some of the pics to use too. Are there any free templates? Anyone able to help me? THANKS!!! AudreyTN
Here's mine when it was blank. I've got some figures on it now. http://iamaud.blogspot.com/search/label/Timeline
Colleen in NS
Here's what I use each year. I use opened up file folders because I have a bunch of them (and make them into an accordian book), but you can tape pieces of paper together or get a roll of paper. http://www.knowledgequestmaps.com/article2.htm
Cindy in MO
I like to use freezer paper taped to the wall or you could do an accordian fold. We have a long hallway that works great. Then I draw a line down the center of the paper, make century or decade divisions depending on the time period covered. I like to put Biblical or church history stuff on top of the timeline and everything else on the bottom. I bought a lot of timeline figures, but you can get images off the net, or draw them or cut them out of old books. I also like to use different colors for different history topics (general history, art, music, Biblical)
ABQmom
I use white cardstock cut in half and taped together on the back with packing tape. I draw the line through the middle with a black sharpie pen, and we google images to paste on the timeline. It has taken me about 4 to 5 half sheets taped together to make the timeline length that we need for the year. Here is a link to my blog that has a picture of our timeline: http://followthetumbleweedroad.blogspot.com/search/label/friday%20report

Where did you get that great coloring map of the US?
ABQmom
I like your idea for your timeline. Where did you get that great coloring map of the US? Here: http://www.yourchildlearns.com/megamaps.htm You can choose different sizes to make the maps. I printed mine out on white cardstock. After printing I simply taped the map together on the back with clear packing tape. We have loved this map, so this year, I'm going to print off a large world map. So, do you follow the pattern for the wall timeline or the book timeline? It seemed like the book timeline would take up a lot more folders than the wall format. How many folders do you use per timeline? Do you have any pics? Merry :-)
