ABQmom
How do you use this book with your children? Could a 6th and 8th grader use it independently?
LanaTron
Right now I assign 2 composers/week, every other week (alternating with logic). They do the reading, listen to the accompanying CD, and complete the follow-up activity. I would prefer to teach it, and discuss (music was my college major, after all), but I just don't have the time. I would also like to bring in additional reading, and CDs of the composers' music to listen to. I did a study like that on the time period from plainchant through the Classical period, but never put anything together for the Romantics through present day. Maybe I will get it together for MTGC 2...but we're joining in a music co-op where they get band, choir, and music theory, so I think our at-home music studies will be very ad hoc.
