j_thurm
I am contemplating using this but was wondering if anyone has used it and what their thoughts on it were. Thanks!
skaterbabs
If it's what I'm thinking of, we have the 1st and 2nd grade books. I wouldn't have paid for price for them, but I got them at a consignment sale for $2 each. We use them as busywork when DD needs to be kept occupied. momofabcd
I have the preschool/kindergarten book. I used it some for my oldest dd when she was prek. But, it is a lot of prep work. However, it has a lot of good ideas, imo. I plan to use parts of it for my 4 year old dd this fall. I really love some of the ideas, but I can't see myself using it as written, unfortunately. j_thurm
Thanks for the responses! I am kind of feeling like that too. There seems to be a lot of good things out there but nothing perfect yet ;)
Ellen in PA
I used the Kindergarden book with my oldest. It did take alot of prep work, especially finding the poems and books since they are older. A good program to buy used and use what fits for your family.:)
Radish4ever
This looks interesting... it looks semi-similar to "Home Education Curriculum: Kindergarten" (it goes up to grade 6 as a series and is out of print now). We will be using HEC: K for my 4 year old this year and supplement it with a phonics/reading program...what I love about it is that it is divided into 6 subjects, 36 weeks, 5 days a week and the activities are all included. The only other extras you might need are books or music to enhance the curriculum and simple household objects... we're going to try it because it truly looks like something I would have pieced together myself! PinkInTheBlue
The first thing I began homeschooling with was the kindergarten book from School Specialty Publishing. We really enjoyed it and I'll look into it for my little guy again. It had great plans, interesting ideas and worksheets and super book recommendations. Moni
I am contemplating using this but was wondering if anyone has used it and what their thoughts on it were. Thanks! I have. It's been at least 20 years, but I remember liking a lot the ideas in it. Not sure what it looks like now. Haven't seen it recently. :seeya:
