Ellyndria
Today DS announced that he needed to take a class to learn how to tie his shoes. I replied that I would teach him, and he gives me the line in the subject of this thread. *sigh* He's only four years old, he hasn't been to school. Ok, he has been taking tae kwon do for going on a year, and I've been going to Kindermusik with him for the past year too. This summer is also the first time he's taken swimming lessons. So that's his experience with teachers. Nevermind that today we finished lesson 61 in 100EZ Lessons, I've been working with him on writing his letters and numbers, and I've read him at least 1789 books on dinosaurs. I'm a mommy, not a teacher apparently. Which means I'm not qualified to teach him how to tie shoes? This doesn't bode well. :tongue_smilie:

gardening momma
I was worried today when my 3.5 yr old dd said she was going to school. Then she said, "right here," and headed into her bedroom. :001_smile:

Dawn in OH
Print up a certificate stating that you have been trained and are certified to teach shoe tying. That usually works with my kids.
Natalieclare
Today my 5 yo asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I told her I wanted to be a mommy. She replied, "No, that's not a job, Mom. It doesn't have tasks." :glare:
