skaterbabs
Does anyone have a kindergarten/first grade level French curriculum they love? Dot has been begging to learn French for ages, and I have a couple of French song tapes for kids, but while she enjoys them, she actually learned more from Pimsler's French I. Is there anything like Pimsler's French, but for kids?
Tonia
I've had no experience with Pimsler's but we're enjoying the Easy French Jr.
helena
We use Pimsleur too. We also do Ecoutez Parlez, I don't know how she would feel about those workbook pages, you either like them or you don't. Just listening to the cd's can be helpful, it's different stuff than Pimsleur. We also do homemade flash cards. We listen to this cd,http://www.imaginedition.com/french_books_music.htm (the top one) in the fall I'm planning to translate them into english with the girls. I keep waiting for something inappropriate to come up on the Pimsleur cd's, did you ever come across a bar conversation, or anything like that? skaterbabs
She likes workbooks a great deal, I just haven't found one young enough for her, if that makes sense. She reads (English) on a third grade level, but even the materials intended for 3rd graders seem too involved.

It's an online only course, but my almost 9 yo is enjoying it. We are working through Elementary French 1 semester 1 as a summer course to give it a try. Suzannah
We use Pimsleur, although I am beginning to look for something else too. We did Powerglide a couple of years ago with DS (DD along for the ride) but reading French words is tricky for adults, let alone a then 10yo. He could understand the vocabulary and answer the questions, but it was really hard for him to find the matching word or fill-in-the-blank, so we switched to Pimsleur. AudreyTN
What about Flip Flop French? We are going to begin Ecoutez! Parlez! very soon.
skaterbabs
Oh! Flip Flop French may work for us! Thanks! We stopped using Pimsleur because it was obviously aimed at businessmen and a lot of the material was simply over her head.
