keithfamily5
We just finished our 3rd year of homeschooling. For 4th grade we used Abeka grammar, 5th grade-Shurley, 6th grade-LLTL with some Writer's Express proofreading/editing pages. I want to do one good year of grammar, just to make sure she's got it. I just don't know what to use. We liked Shurley, but she forgot some of what she learned, so I'm not sure how effective it was. Maybe the second time around it would stick. I'm wondering about Easy Grammar. Please give me some ideas! Thanks, Patty
keithfamily5
I know I have grammar ace listed in our curriculum pics for the year, but I didn't order it. I'm just not sure about it.
amtmcm
My DD used Shurley for 5 years, then we took a break and used LLATL Green last year. I decided on CLE Language Arts for this year, but there's so many good programs. Easy Grammar looks good, or how about Analytical Grammar? Heather in VA
Definately Analytical Grammar. It's great. Sue in PA has written some good reviews about it that you could search for. Heather
HollyDay
I asked this question recently at a local homeschool meeting. The answer I got was Abeka. The speaker said Abeka 7 and 8 really "tied it all together" and prepared the dc for high school level work. I've not used Abeka so I cannot comment from personal experience, but I have heard this more than once.
Sunshine State Sue
Definately Analytical Grammar. It's great. Sue in PA has written some good reviews about it that you could search for. My favorite is Analytical Grammar. You may read my review in this thread.
islandmama
Another vote for Analytical Grammar... :iagree: but it doesn't have writing included.
