I'm looking for a good laminator...

Recommended Posts

I've never owned/used one before (except for one time when I used an office model in college and that was a disaster) so I really don't know anything about them. I'm looking for good quality, relatively easy to use, and something that will endure lots of use for a long time. Hopefully one that will not cost hundreds of dollars.

Anyone have a favorite model?

This one is great: Scotch TL901 Thermal Laminator. I'm not sure what's up with the listed price though, so shop around. Less than a year ago I bought it for $32 from Amazon (not a Marketplace retailer). I know some warehouse clubs carry it, and I buy new laminating sheets at the one we belong to.

:iagree: This is the one I have too. My husband purchased it at Walmart (a gift). I believe it was $25-$30. Not more than that.

:iagree:We also bought this laminator. We got it from Costco including:

20 - 8.5" x 11" pouches

20 - 5" x 7" pouches

20 - 4" x 6" pouches

20 - 2.4" x 3.7" pouches (for business cards)

It's an amazing deal, given that the $20 (or $25?) price that we paid was LESS than the price of buying JUST the pouches. Most laminators cost much, much more...

I have one very similar to that and use the Scotch thermal packets as refills. I bought it at Target for $25 about 3 or 4 years ago. It works like a charm and is still going strong. You definitely don't need an expensive one to get the job done.
