Pine Ledge Academy
I really like IEW's concept, but I need someone to spell it out for me.....from reading other threads it seems as if WWE is a way to do that? Help!

KathyBC
WWE = Writing With Ease by Susan Wise Bauer. The book spells out for parents a method of teaching writing using quality literature for Copywork, Narration and Dictation. Sample lessons are given for each stage of development. There are also workbooks you can purchase with an entire year's lessons laid out for you, if you prefer. IEW = Institute for Excellence in Writing, Andrew Pudewa. The teaching DVDs and workbook for the parent are Teaching Writing Structure & Style (TWSS). If you would prefer Andrew to directly instruct the student while you follow along, you would start with Student Writing Intensive (SWI), at whatever grade level you need. The IEW yahoo loop group is extremely helpful in getting one started. HTH. Edited June 21, 2009 by KathyBC
Marla
Another difference is that WWE is designed for grades 1-4 whereas IEW is generally used with older students.
