Guest Dulcimeramy
I already own SL Core 100, but I don't want to use it as-is. I just want to use the Hakim books with John Holzmann's notes, but use traditional literature instead of the historical fiction. I was thinking of using Stobaugh's American Literature course, simply because I am familiar with almost all of the works included. However, it may be a little heavy for my thirteen year old son. I'd rather reserve those works for later in high school. Also, I really want to do a worldviews course of some kind with him, and he thinks he'd enjoy Starting Points. I think I'd enjoy it, too. Soooo....how would it be to combine the history portion of SL Core 100, Starting Points, and Lightning Lit American Literature? Nathaniel is pretty bookish, so I think he can handle the workload if I just trim things here and there if he gets overwhelmed. I appreciate any thoughts on my latest brainstorm for 9th grade.
