abbeyej
I'm looking for two things: Your recommendations on introducing Dante to 6th graders (either a specific translation or retelling, or a study guide)...? Also, I'd love to find something wonderful about Da Vinci for this age group as well. I have a bunch of simple biographies, etc, for younger children, but wondered if I was missing something important for older ones...

elegantlion
I just reviewed Dante's Divine Comedy as told for young people on my blog. I plan on doing this version as a read-aloud for ds this fall, he'll be in 6th.
8filltheheart
Not exactly about Da Vinci b/c he is only a side character in the biography, but my kids and I loved WINGS OF AN EAGLE The Story of Michelangelo by Peck. The competition between the 2 men is a definite part of the story line.

swimmermom3
Thank you for asking this question-I think:D Thanks to ElegantLion's review I am now the proud owner of this book. Which is great, except that we're doing ancients this year. I know better than to hit this forum without my coffee.

I read it aloud. We both scratched our head on what it meant sometimes. There are some cool ideas in this thread. Good luck!
