LisaKinVA
And, I have children who are READERS again. My suspicions about the lack of interest in reading being correlated to a Nanny who wouldn't turn off the television during the day, or allowed them continual access to the laptop for internet games have been proven correct. It took about two months to get used to NOT having television, movies, games, etc. during the day (between breakfast and dinner), but my oldest daughter is now disappearing to read in her room, my oldest son has finished and enjoyed reading Johnny Tremain and Little House on the Prairie (he now is reading the rest of them), and Joshua is reading short chapter books too. It's far from perfect, but we're getting there. I still have to figure out how to get the cooking done, as well as do more during the day for my job... but we're hanging in there. On the brighter side, we've paid of $12,000 in debt too! It's been hard. But, it's definitely been worth it.
joannqn
That sounds like things are working out really well. Good for you for paying all that towards debt.
Tree House Academy
Life without a nanny...man, I can't imagine life WITH a nanny. LOL But I am really glad your kids are reading again. :)
