Veronica in VA
Ds has to do a 1/2 credit health course. Any ideas for a just get 'er done course? Thanks! Veronica
FloridaLisa
Dd used Total Health. I literally just handed it to her and she read it. I have all of the tests and whatnot, but I didn't belabor it. Total Health is from a Christian perspective and I was happy with what I saw of it. Alos, you can often find used copies. HTH, Lisa
Cornflower
Another hearty recommendation for Total Health. We used the Jr. high edition and we are looking forward to the high school edition. Coenflower
willowcreek
Anyone have experience with the Switched on Schoolhouse Health series?
Tina
CPR and First Aid classes through the Red Cross. Who would have an up to date video study of various drugs that are out there now? Community ed or 4_H classes on nutrition or ? Just some thoughts...
Lolly
Anyone have experience with the Switched on Schoolhouse Health series? Dd used the LifePac version this year. It is a get 'er done kind of option.
carla36301
Abeka has a half semester Health course for high school. I haven't used it, though, so I don't know anything about it. I was thinking of using it in 10th grade for whichever semester ds wasn't doing driver's ed a co-op since driver's ed will be a half credit course. AngieW in Texas
Oak Meadow has a one semester health course. I'm going to use it with my middle dd next year.

FloridaLisa
Here's a link to Total Health, high school text. Other storefronts may carry it; this popped up when I googled. HTH! Lisa
teacalm
Thank you for the link, FloridaLisa. Is this a whole year curriculum? Do you this everyday or several times a week? I'm trying to fit Civics, on top of Health, on ds's 8th grade program for this coming year. Thank you for responding. Lyn
AnitaMcC
Ds has to do a 1/2 credit health course. Any ideas for a just get 'er done course? Thanks! Veronica We are going to use Holt Lifetime Health. I like what I see in it and it seems thorough. Also plan to take CPR and First Aid Red Cross courses for certification.
Julie in MN
Hewitt has a health syllabus for using Total Health & a Dover anatomy coloring book (not the huge anatomy coloring book that's out there for college-level). They schedule health twice a week. The Hewitt syllabus includes its own tests. I think the Total Health teacher book has schedules for doing the test in one semester or two. At least it did for the high school one. And they will include the Total Health worksheets & quizzes. P.S. I didn't like the public school textbooks on health for my older dd (high school) because they spent too much time on, well, topics I didn't want to spend that much time on...
