Chris in VA
Draw Today teaches rendering with grids. Sonlight sells it, but you don't have to do the dvd. Papier Mache is fun--we like making armatures out of chicken wire (or newspaper) and wrapping them in pm, then painting. Kits like stepping stones and mosaics can be fun, too. Rainbow Resources has tons of neat stuff.
Catwoman
Draw Today teaches rendering with grids. Sonlight sells it, but you don't have to do the dvd. We bought the Draw Today set at AC Moore when they had a 50%-off coupon, so it ended up costing less than $25.00. I don't know if Michael's or Hobby Lobby sells the same set, but they always have coupons, too. (If you're not already on their mailing lists, just visit their websites and sign up!) Cat PS. We haven't tried using the set yet, so I don't have a review for you!
