My obsession with freebies

Recommended Posts

Okay I need to confess and maybe even share;). I am the freebie queen. This year alone I got a AMAZING free art curriculum. It came with beautiful laminated posters(HUGE) of reproductions of art from American History as well as a lesson guide. I got a gigantic kit with DVD's of the National Banking System (Economics Class), another with DVD's of the United Nations and how that whole system is set up (Government Class),Free computer software about space (Astronomy), Free Alphabet Braille card, Free fusion, radiation, electromagnetism posters as well as cd's for each, free Manatee kit, and so much more. Is there somewhere to post this stuff?

I, too, love stumbling across free, and good quality, educational materials ! I have seen a couple of posts around WTM wherein someone provides a link to such discoveries. I don't know if there are any restrictions -- It certainly is not advertising.

Are the things you list still available? If they are, perhaps -- if you don't mind taking the time -- you could list the "active" links in this thread. Several of them sound wonderful for my teaching needs !

Also, are you familiar with this website: http://www.freelyeducate.com/

I have shared some of my "finds" with the webmistress and seen them posted, later, on her site.

Oh, I would love for you to share. If you don't post here, can you send me a private message? I love freebies and actively searched for them until a couple of months ago when sickness fell upon us. I haven't returned to my habit yet.

Here is a free home ec text called Future Christian Homemakers. You can print the entire text off. It is fantastic!

If you don't post the link on this thread, would you please pm me to let me know? I teach art at a Classical Christian school as well as teaching my own child at home. The art curriculum would be so welcome.

Thanks so much!

Blessings,

Lucinda

can't wait to see more free stuff...

here are mine stumble upon finds (these are tags, click on them to go to the web sites), many of them have freebies...

http://majorchange.stumbleupon.com/tags/ (explanation: there is a tag which says "porn" and it was added automatically to 3 websites, that are totally NOT that...and I don't know how to change that - I changed tags on these pages few times, but it did not help)

Free vocabulary site. There are tons of novels where the vocabulary was pulled from and also a general vocabulary lessons page-65 vocabulary lessons.

I can't get this link to work (sorry, still not very good at this) but if you google: Laying the Foundation and then click English at the top and on that page in the middle is a link for Vocabulary Resources-click here. It is here. It is worth the search!

Our homeschool group leader applied for the Art package and received it. We'll be trying to work that into our co-op next year. I haven't seen it yet, but will soon since I'm working with another member to arrange our lessons for next year.

Another awesome freebie is Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Go here to see if your county/state participates. You can sign up any child from birth to age 5, and every single month the child will receive a free hard cover book. We've gotten some awesome books! Hope someone else can enjoy this!
